Charged EVs | Applied EV selects CISSOID’s SiC inverter control module for autonomous EV motors - Charged EVs

Posted July 3, 2024 by Nicole Willing & filed under Newswire, The Tech.

Australian autonomous technology developer Applied EV has chosen CISSOID‘s new CXT-ICM3SA series of silicon carbide (SiC) inverter control modules (ICMs) for its latest generation of electric motors for autonomous vehicles.

CISSOID’s software-powered SiC ICMs designed for the EV market are augmented with onboard programmable hardware, accelerating response times to critical events, off-loading the processor cores and enhancing functional safety, according to the company.

Applied EV is integrating the ICM into its Digital Backbone, a centralized control system combining software and hardware.

“By combining our electric motor design with Applied EV’s proficiency in software and vehicle integration, the aim is to deliver an electric motor drive platform for the future of mobility together,” CISSOID’s CEO, Dave Hutton, said.
